What's a Styled Shoot day?

A styled shoot day is a carefully planned “almost wedding” where we bring together a venue, fashion, florals and details to create a complete story you can photograph without the pressure of a real timeline. For Westonbirt House, that means Bridgerton‑inspired, Regency‑soft romance with a modern editorial edge: a sculptural Justin Alexander gown, tailored suits, Katy Pheiffer’s polished make‑up, abundant Jenny Fleur florals, crafted Deabill & Quince stationery and Kirsten Butler’s cohesive styling, all set against one of the Cotswolds’ most remarkable stately homes. You get the time and space to experiment, build a future‑proof portfolio and practise how you want to shoot, while still learning how to translate it back to real wedding days.

What you'll experience

  • Shoot in one of England’s finest Victorian stately homes, with indoor and outdoor spaces you’d normally only see on a big‑budget wedding brief.
  • Build a portfolio level‑up in a single day, with two model couples, editorial styling and guided shooting that’s designed for real‑world weddings, not just pretty pictures.
  • Learn alongside a small group of photographers, filmmakers and content creators, with practical guidance from the FedWed team woven into the day.
  • Walk away with new work, new knowledge and new connections that translate into better bookings and more confident shooting next season.

What's the plan?

Shoot a modern Regency story at Westonbirt House

Spend 12–8pm crafting Bridgerton‑influenced, Cotswolds‑elegant work in one of England’s most remarkable stately homes – with pro models, Justin Alexander fashion and guided, editorial‑minded styling designed for your future portfolio.

Westonbirt House as your backdrop

Westonbirt House is a Grade I listed Victorian mansion set in 210 acres of private parkland and formal gardens – described as “the finest example of Victorian architecture, landscape and gardens in the Cotswolds.” You’ll have access to the Great Hall, Library, Reading Room and Italian Gardens, each full of carved panelling, marble fireplaces and ornate ceilings that immediately make your work feel more editorial. The overall feel will be sophisticated, romantic and unmistakably Cotswolds: grandeur, symmetry and atmosphere in every direction, without ever feeling like a themed set. Ceremonies and couple sessions at Westonbirt translate seamlessly from intimate gatherings up to large‑scale celebrations, so the images you create will feel believable for the real weddings you want to book.

A full shoot day, with golden hour

We’re running 12–8pm so you get a proper arc to the day: soft indoor light in the state rooms, time in the gardens, and then golden hour across terraces, lawns and formal planting. You’ll have space to work, refine ideas and experiment, rather than snatching a few minutes in each set‑up. We’ll be working with a professional model couple, chosen for a natural ease in front of camera so shooting feels relaxed and authentic, not stiff or performative. With only 10 places, you’ll get structured opportunities and genuine one‑to‑one time with them, instead of fighting for angles in a crowd.

Top‑tier styling and suppliers

The creative direction is loosely Bridgerton‑inspired: soft, Regency‑style romance with a modern editorial sensibility. Think elegant and abundant without being over‑styled, refined without losing warmth, and intentionally aligned with where high‑end countryside weddings are heading for 2027 onwards. A sculptural Justin Alexander gown will bring movement and softness against the architecture. Katy Pheiffer’s make‑up is known for polished, effortless skin that looks incredible in camera and holds up close, giving you flattering, consistent results across the whole day. Jenny Fleur’s florals will layer in soft pastels, texture and a gentle modern pop of colour, giving the ceremony scenes and wider setups a romantic energy that feels decadent rather than “overdone Pinterest.” Deabill & Quince are creating tactile, crafted stationery elements that add story‑driven details to flatlays, tabletops and in‑hand moments, while Kirsten Butler’s styling will pull every thread together into a cohesive, elevated aesthetic from first look to last frame. We’ll be adding more premium suppliers as they’re confirmed, and every new addition will be chosen for the same level of quality and creativity so your final gallery has a unified, high‑end look.

Learn with guidance, not lectures

Throughout the day you’ll have access to FedWed founders Ste Walker and Adam Johnson, plus FedWed mentor Eve Dunlop. They’ll be there in the rooms and gardens with you, offering prompts, answering questions and helping you make small shifts in how you see and shoot that add up to a big difference. This isn’t a sit‑down workshop with hours of slides; it’s learning by doing, with experienced shooters folding in their thinking as you work. Whether you’re early in your wedding journey or mid‑career and ready for a reset, you’ll come away with practical ideas you can apply at the very next wedding.

Space for every kind of creator

The day is open to photographers, filmmakers and wedding content creators – if you work with cameras at weddings, this is for you. We’re designing the timelines and setups so each discipline can get what they need without tripping over each other’s workflows. You’ll also have the chance to capture content of yourself shooting – behind‑the‑scenes photos and video that you can use on your website, Reels and TikTok to show couples how you actually work. In one day you’ll create a bank of assets: hero images, story sequences, details, video clips and BTS content that all speak the same elevated visual language.

A look that feels now (and future‑proof)

This shoot is being built around where taste is heading, not just what’s trending on Instagram this month. Regency‑inspired styling, sculptural fashion, abundant yet restrained florals and crafted details all sit comfortably within the broader shift towards more editorial, story‑driven weddings in 2027. You’ll leave with work that feels aspirational and current – the kind of images that wouldn’t look out of place alongside leading UK and destination photographers. That makes it easier to reposition your brand, raise your prices with confidence and attract couples who recognise and value this level of aesthetic.

Small group, big opportunity

We’ve capped the day at 10 attendees to keep the experience focused, fair and relaxed. That means more shooting time, less waiting around and room to try ideas without feeling watched by a huge crowd. You’ll spend the day alongside a tight group of peers who are serious about their work, with plenty of space to bounce ideas around, compare approaches and build relationships that can turn into referrals, second‑shooting or future collaborations. Lunch is included, so there’s a natural mid‑day pause to reset, talk shop and plan what you want to make of golden hour.

Investment that makes sense

Tickets are £499 for non‑members and £399 for FedWed members, reflecting the level of venue, production and access you’re getting. For a styled shoot in a house of this calibre, with this supplier team and such a small group, it’s intentionally positioned as a high‑value day rather than a cheap portfolio scramble. You’re not just buying a day out; you’re investing in a stronger brand, work that feels aligned with where the industry is heading, and images that make higher‑value couples see themselves in your portfolio. One good booking off the back of this day comfortably covers the ticket and starts paying you back.
