The Federation of Wedding Creatives presents
Lake District Wedding Photographer
Hi, I’m Jaye and I’m a wedding photographer from the Lake District and Cumbria. I believe that a wedding is very much about the client and what they want and for a photographer to fit in to their day, and not the other way around. I have a relaxed and natural approach to my photography, and I want to see colour in a photo. If the grass is green and the sky is blue I want to see those colours pop in a photo so that a wedding is documented in a true to life aesthetic.

Q.What do you love about weddings?
A.It’s the people that make a wedding. From the staff at a venue to everyone who comes together to celebrate a couple getting married, it’s the people that make every wedding unique and special. A wedding is a very human story and what I always want to present in my wedding photography is the story of the day. You’ll always remember the tears, the joy, the fun and the laughter and seeing that in a photo can transport you right back to the moment. All of those moments that are carefully curated be me for a couple to look back through, which is a very special thing to do and what’s not to love about that.
Q.How would you describe your style?
A.Natural, relaxed and fun. Direction is gentle, documentary is a given at certain parts of the day, and most of all I don’t want it to feel like I’m another person working but for my couples to think of me as the friend that they never knew they needed.
Q.What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?
A.I quite enjoy a ceremony, especially if it’s outside and I have space to move around and get different angles. A drinks reception can be really good fun especially if you get right in amongst the guests to make the most of capturing candids. Couple photos are always special too and time to create some magic.
Q.What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
A.I’m based in the Lake District and work all over Cumbria and the surrounding areas such as Dumfries, Lancashire and the North Dales/Pennines. I’m also happy to travel anywhere in the UK.
Q.How long have you been capturing weddings?
A.Officially since February 2018. Unofficially I photographed a friends wedding back in 2008 when I worked as a makeup artist. I then dabbled here and there, started assisting and second shooting in 2014/2015, and setup Jaye-Peg Photography in 2018.
Q.Can you recommend other wedding suppliers?
A.Absolutely, I’m always happy to help my couples find other suppliers and I also offer a joint photo and video package with a friend who is a videographer.
