Scottish portrait, event and wedding photographer
I’m Kristofer, a photographer based in Central Belt, Scotland specialising in natural authentic images. I work across portraits, commercial and landscapes, capturing everything from real human moments to the small details in nature. My goal is to create images that feel genuine, thoughtful, and visually striking.

Approach
Q.How would you describe your style?
A.I’d describe my style as natural, candid, and story-led, with a focus on real moments rather than overly posed or heavily directed images. I tend to work in a documentary approach where I’m observing and anticipating moments as they unfold, rather than constantly staging them. I like to keep things relaxed and unobtrusive so people feel comfortable and behave naturally in front of the camera. From a visual perspective, I’m drawn to clean compositions, natural light where possible, and subtle use of colour and contrast to keep the images timeless rather than trend-driven. Overall, my goal is to create images that feel genuine and emotionally honest — the kind of photographs that still feel meaningful years later because they reflect what the day actually felt like, not just how it looked.
Q.What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?
A.I’m based in the Central Belt of Scotland and primarily cover Glasgow, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, including the wider Central Belt. I also regularly work across Scotland more broadly, including areas like the Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway, and the Highlands depending on the project. I’m definitely happy to travel for the right jobs. I’m comfortable with reasonable travel across Scotland and parts of northern England, and I’m also open to destination work where it’s planned in advance. For longer distances or overnight stays, I just prefer a bit of notice so I can plan properly and ensure I’m fully prepared for the shoot. Overall, I’m flexible with travel and see it as a great opportunity to work in new environments and build experience in different venues and settings.
Q.Can we send you inspo ahead of the wedding?
A.Yes — I’m very happy for you to send inspiration ahead of the wedding. It actually helps a lot to understand the kind of look and feel you’re drawn to, whether that’s specific moments, lighting styles, composition ideas, or general mood. I’ll always treat it as guidance rather than something to copy exactly, so I can still focus on capturing your day naturally as it unfolds. If you do send anything, the most useful things tend to be: - A few key reference images (not too many) - Any must-have moments or group shots - A sense of the overall vibe you want (relaxed, romantic, editorial, documentary, etc.) It helps me go into the day more prepared while still keeping things authentic and unscripted.
Q.How long have you been capturing weddings?
A.I’m currently building my experience in wedding photography and am actively looking to assist and second shoot alongside established photographers. My background is in developing a natural, documentary-style approach to photography, and I’m now focused on gaining real wedding-day experience. I’m keen to learn, reliable on the day, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments where anticipation and teamwork are important. Each opportunity I take on is about improving my understanding of weddings in real time — from capturing candid moments to supporting the lead photographer and helping the day run smoothly.
Q.What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
A.Focus less on making the day perfect and more on being present in it. Weddings have a lot going on — timings, guests, details, logistics — and it’s easy to get pulled into managing everything as it happens. The couples who seem to enjoy their day the most are the ones who let go of the idea that everything has to run exactly to plan and instead stay focused on the people, the emotions, and the moments that actually matter. If something runs late or changes slightly, it rarely affects the story of the day in the way it feels like it might in the moment. What you’ll remember — and what your photos will reflect — are the real interactions, the atmosphere, and how it felt to be there.
