Oxford wedding photographer — Eye Imagine Photography

About Oxford wedding photographer — Eye Imagine Photography

I've been passionate about photography since my teens and have loved being able to make this job my career for the past 30 years. I feel honoured to have photographed weddings throughout the UK and across the globe, from New York to Mauritius, but the best part is the people I've met on my journey, helping them chronicle their unique weddings, where ever they are being held.

Approach

In their own words

Q.What do you love about weddings?

A.Its always the people, i love getting to know a couple, their families and friends, even if its only for a few days. listening to their unique stories, their dreams and turning their dreams into photographs they can treasure for a lifetime to remind them of one of the best days of their lives.

Q.What is your favourite part of a wedding to capture?

A.I love it all, from the calm before the ceremony, the excitement of whats to come, the nervous anticipation waiting for the bride to appear, the informal, spontaneous shots of people having a great day, the little glances between the couple, the couple shoot, a moment for the couple to relax away from the buzz of the day, and of course the party, a chance for everyone to let their hair down.

Q.How would you describe your style?

A.this is a really tricky question. i don't think what i do can be categorised with one label. my approach to a wedding day depends very much on what the couple want, i adapt my style to ensure i capture the photos that the couple want, it is their day, not my photoshoot. there is always a mix of classical couple shots, informal shots of guests, family groups - yes i think these are pretty essential if it only limited to immediate families and the bridal party. its a case of mixing creativity, being unobtrusive when needed to capture quiet moments and directing people when required

Q.How long have you been capturing weddings?

A.over 30 years

Q.What one piece of advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?

A.try and take a moment away from everyone (including me) to breath, reflect on the day and recharge your batteries.

Q.What areas do you cover and are you happy to travel?

A.Totally, travel is another of my passions. i've photographed weddings across the UK, Europe, USA and exotic locations like Mauritius and Sri Lanka. being a photographer has given me so many opportunities to travel, but i never forget the reason i get to go to these wonderful places is to photograph a wedding, everything else is a bonus. i am happy to travel virtually anywhere for a couple who ask me to be their photographer

Q.Can we send you inspo ahead of the wedding?

A.of course, its your wedding. i always listen to what you want from your wedding photography, i will guide you where appropriate and help you achieve your dreams.

Q.Do you have a favourite wedding venue?

A.I've worked at so many places during my career, from grand country estates ( i was the recommended photographer at Highclere Castle for 12 years until Downton Abbey really took off), the Kensington Roof Gardens was another favourite, as are beach locations, both here and abroad. i also love quiet, intimate weddings, a long table for a dozen guests to eat and drink the afternoon away in an English country pub garden with only the birds for company. however it always the people who make the wedding, the venue is a bonus.

Q.If you weren't a wedding creative, what would you be?

A.own a small coffee shop / gallery for people to mix in and buy my Fine Art photography, perhaps in the Dordogne or Barcelona
